between ancient Rome and the Tiber

Today we had a wonderful experience, a trip on the Tiber River and a visit to Ostia Antica arheologica.

The first part of the day was devoted to navigation on the Tiber, about two hours with an experienced operator in the historical Cecilia and natural.

Our boat was called LOVE BOAT: here it is

The boat was well DAVIDE: for us it was so beautiful and we made the photo with him!

The cruise began in Rome in Ponte Marconi and ended up in Ostia Antica we used to know the extraordinary diversity of the river:

aquatic animals (turtles ), birds (herons, ducks, gulls, coots, cormorants ,...)
Sailing on the river we understand the importance of this route of communication was in Roman times.

In the second part of the day, after lunch and the game, Cecilia took us to see the archaeological excavations
: we saw the Roman roads, the Decumanus Maximus

the mill, the

Foric,

forum and basilica,

the inn

theater,

the mosaics of the Bar of the corporations,

the necropolis, ...

We discovered many aspects of daily life of an ancient people.

This was truly a trip SPECIAL!
